WOODLAND, Yolo County — November 3, 2026. Jesse Ortiz is ahead of George Washington in early results for Woodland City Council District 1, according to Yolo County’s 10:03 p.m. unofficial election report.
District 1 votes counted so far
Ortiz received 1,271 votes (63.27%), compared with 738 votes (36.73%) for Washington. The county’s cumulative report labels both precincts in the district as reporting, but the percentage does not mean every valid ballot has been counted. The reported difference is 533 votes.
District 3: uncontested race
Woodland’s other City Council seat on the November ballot is District 3. Incumbent Tania Garcia-Cadena, the only candidate listed in the county’s early report, received 1,190 votes. An uncontested district election is not a citywide mayoral race.
Why the results are not final
Vote-by-mail ballots that arrive on time under California law, conditional ballots and ballots requiring review may be processed after Election Night. Yolo County scheduled a further update around midnight and expects certification no later than December 3. An initial lead is not an official election result.
