WOODLAND, Yolo County — November 4, 2026. Woodland voters considered Measure Z, a narrow proposal to change when city utilities may reach certain existing commercial properties outside the urban limit line.
What the early count shows
The proposal concerns properties that were operating on or before November 3, 2026 and lie within one mile of the city’s specified urban limit line. It would allow extension of certain potable-water, recycled-water and sewer facilities under the measure’s restrictions. Regional early-results reporting listed Yes ahead, but a verified exact count is not included here.
What the result means for residents
Measure Z does not authorize unrestricted outward development across the surrounding countryside, and it is different from Woodland Measure Y’s sales-tax proposal. Its approval requires a simple majority. The early count is provisional, with the Yolo County canvass continuing after election night.
Unofficial, dated results
This is a report about returns publicly available on November 4, 2026, not a newly certified November 5 count. Yolo County says its last election-night update was posted at 1:37 a.m. November 4; its next regularly scheduled unofficial update is Friday, November 6, by 5 p.m. Pacific. Ballot processing and certification continue.
